Workshop Terms & Conditions
A Legal Disclaimer
(a) If a class is cancelled by Aili Larsen Education, a full refund will be given. If you choose to cancel your place in a class, refunds are not available including deposits. The remaining balance must be paid 4 weeks prior to the start of the class or your position in the class will be lost and no refunds of payments made to date will be given. This is due to short notice for us to fill the vacated place in the class and the cost of catering and other expenses.
(b)For each course we require a minimum number of students for it to proceed. If this number is not reached, the course will be cancelled three weeks prior to course commencement. If you plan on booking flights and accommodation, we advise you to hold off on booking flights and accommodation until the decision is made. All students will be notified if the course is cancelled, otherwise the course will proceed.
(c)We reserve the right to change our cancellation and refund policy at any time. Any payments made during a payment plan will not be refunded if there is a change of mind.
(d)We do not offer refunds or cancellations, however please contact us in the following conditions and we will do our best to accommodate on a case-by-case basis:
(i) In extreme circumstances, a transfer to another course may be available as a special consideration and an US$100 admin fee is applicable. The transfer must be used for an existing course on offer at the time of the requested transfer. A valid credit card number will be required to hold any spot within the transferred course. This enables us to hold your spot, but will also be used in the event of a no-show at any course.
(ii) Substituting a person for a course is acceptable prior to course commencement and must be organised by the student made the original booking.
(iii) If you do not show up to a course, there will be no transfer or no refund.
(iv) If you are unable to attend a postponed course due to COVID-19, Pandemics, or other related Force Majeure, Aili Larsend will provide you with a credit note to be used towards another scheduled class with no expiry date (however we cannot guarantee what, or if, Face to Face courses will be offered in your location).
Terms & Conditions - The Basics
Having said that, Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) are a set of legally binding terms defined by you, as the owner of this website. The T&C set forth the legal boundaries governing the activities of the website visitors, or your customers, while they visit or engage with this website. The T&C are meant to establish the legal relationship between the site visitors and you as the website owner.
T&C should be defined according to the specific needs and nature of each website. For example, a website offering products to customers in e-commerce transactions requires T&C that are different from the T&C of a website only providing information (like a blog, a landing page, and so on).
T&C provide you as the website owner the ability to protect yourself from potential legal exposure, but this may differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so make sure to receive local legal advice if you are trying to protect yourself from legal exposure.
What to Include in the T&C Document
Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much, much more.
